Electrical Work and Testing

Electrical Work

Abbey Appliances undertake all types of electrical work, including repairs, installations, alterations and even full re-wires. Any job is undertaken, however big or small.  The Abbey Appliances electricians are fully qualified with City and Guilds and are registered with NAPIT, an electrical governing body.

Abbey Appliances can arrange for the supply and fitting of electric showers, electric heating, all types of lighting, extractor fans and much more.  Please ask a member of the team for more information.

'Part P' Registration

Under current regulations, 'Part P' registration is required for any major electrical alteration, addition or new installation to a domestic property.  Abbey Appliances will register electrical work with the local authority and provide paperwork to customer where required.

Testing and Inspections

PAT testing

PAT testing on portable appliances may be required for insurance purposes and Abbey Appliances are able to complete this testing for customers.  Once  completed, a certificate is provided to the customer to prove testing has been conducted and pass (or fail) stickers are fixed to appliances where appropriate.

Customers are invited to bring individual items into the store to undergo testing or Abbey Appliances can complete testing on-site for larger quantities of appliances.

Periodic Inspections

Sometimes referred to as a Fixed Wiring Test, Abbey Appliances are qualified to conduct Periodic Inspections on domestic properties.  This type of electrical inspection and testing may be required when buying or selling a house or when renting out your property.  Once a Periodic Inspection is completed, full paperwork is provided to the customer and recommendations for any improvement to the existing electrical installation may be made.
